How should high purity sulfur hexafluoride be used
Published on:2017-12-29 Click:233Sulfur hexafluoride is widely used in industrial gases. Then, the high purity sulfur hexafluoride risk level can not be ignored. Here, let's take a look at it together,so that it can be used correctly in the work and avoid causing harm.
High purity sulfur hexafluoride is classified as Class 2.2 non-combustible gas in the Chinese national standard GB13690-62 and the List of Hazardous Chemicals(2002 edition),with hazardous characteristics of 5.20 and dangerous goods No.22021.Pure products are basically non-toxic,but products such as mixed low-fluoride sulfur, hydrogen fluoride, especially sulfur decafluoride or oxygen decafluoride disulfide, the toxicity is enhanced.
High purity sulfur hexafluoride hazard performance
Eye contact:Contact with its fluid and cold vapor can cause tissue frostbite.
Inhalation:exposure to oxygen content less than 19.5%of the atmosphere will lead to dizziness, coma, increased saliva, unresponsiveness, nausea, vomiting, loss of consciousness and death, when high purity sulfur hexafluoride exposure to oxygen content less than 12%of the atmosphere will be without any warning loss of consciousness, and lose the ability to self-rescue.
Skin contact:Exposure to sulfur hexafluoride liquids and cold vapors may cause frostbite.
