Hexafluoroethane can also form an azeotrope R-508B with HFC-23 that does not damage the ozone layer. R-508B is used as a substitute for CF-13 and R-503 in the low temperature section of multi-stage compression cycle;

3. Chemical industry: hexafluoroethane can be used as a fluoride additive in chemical reactions;

4. Power industry: hexafluoroethane can be used as insulating agent and high dielectric strength coolant for electrical equipment;
